Laurel leads our Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance Group helping her clients drive and sustain positive change by applying her expertise in business process excellence and compliance, change management, and information technology. Laurel has optimized nearly every major business process – documenting, analyzing and streamlining operations for companies within various industries including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and restaurant.

In addition, Laurel has assisted clients through the SOX 404 certification process by performing overall project scoping and risk/ fraud assessments, documenting business controls at the entity and process levels, preparing test programs, interfacing with external auditors, conducting testing and assisting in remediation. Laurel also heads the information technology portion of the practice, assisting clients in assessing their IT functions and providing guidance and solutions for IT SOX.

Laurel also provides Outsourced CFO support for our clients assisting in a wide-ranging projects including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cash flow planning/management and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Insero, Laurel spent sixteen years dedicated to building accounting, financing, human resources and information technology functions within high growth, high technology businesses. Her roles included Chief Financial Officer for a $50M not-for-profit technology generator in Rochester, NY and CFO/Controller roles in several West Coast biotechnology and device start-ups.
